"The Reek of Madness"
(also previously called "A piece of Realism")
Featured at the Speck Gallery in Indianapolis for "MANmade,
a group show in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
9"x12" mixed media, framed
The words say:
"Gentleman friend
step forth into the night,
are you of the stars?
Who are you?
Do you think
do you know?
Enlighten me.
He stood there in silence
A disturbing element
son of
human kind
recalled
like one returning through
the abyss.
He glowed LIVING
making dead a piece of realism
A gem with
the reek of *madness*
He turned and walked slowly back, *into obscurity* "
......
I started this piece by scribbling with colored pencils, and then added collage and paint.
